BEYOND COMMON ORTHODOXIES

BEYOND COMMON ORTHODOXIES

In the landscape of modern belief, the assertion of a polytheistic and non-Christian identity is frequently met with a polarized reaction: it is either dismissed as an act of hostility toward traditional faith or conflated with the various movements that define themselves through their opposition to it. The First Church of Druwayu occupies a distinct space that defies both of these categorizations. By intentionally situating itself outside of the Christian paradigm, the Church does not seek to tear down or antagonize that tradition. Rather, it operates from the understanding that a distinct identity can exist in parallel, grounded in its own foundations, without defining itself by what it is not.

The Architecture of Independence

To be non-Christian is not synonymous with being anti-Christian. The First Church of Druwayu views the Christian tradition as a historical and theological reality, but one that is separate from its own. The…

The Druids: History, Language, and Reinvention

The Druids

Druwayu Is Not Druidry

Modern Druidry is at the best understood as both a product of Roman-era mythologizing and a modern reconstructive fiction in terms of continuity claims, while some branches still existing as a real meaningful contemporary tradition admit this honestly. It is not a continuous Iron Age institution and most modern Druids are honest about this.

There are also a lot of self proclaimed "Druids" that are not so honest with themselves or others about such matters and more or less through whatever "feels right" to them and proclaim it authentic and ancient when in reality its neither historical or accurate outside of their own heads and the fantasy fulfillment nonsense of wanna be types.

What Paganism is and what it Really came from

What Paganism is and what it Really came from:

Its also why its rejected as an identifier for us.

Paganism is not a single religion, nor has it ever been; rather, it serves as a modern umbrella term for a diverse array of religious and spiritual movements predominantly rooted in European traditions. At least, that's what we are presented with.

  • These paths most commonly derive from Celtic, Germanic, and Slavic indigenous or presumed indigenous cultures—often incorporating Mediterranean influences from Greek and Roman antiquity—and vary significantly in their preservation, with some retaining historical fragments while others do not.

  • Consequently, the landscape of modern Paganism ranges from clearly structured, tradition-based practices to more eclectic and individualized approaches. Beyond that, most of what you encounter is complete bullshit.
