OUR HISTORY-TIMELINE

1985 – The Spark
Druwayu began as an idea in the mind of the founder, Raymond Steven Gottlieb Foster, gradually developing over several decades. It was initially unnamed, serving as a private circle for experimentation, research, and challenging commonly held claims and beliefs (including presumed etymology, which was carefully examined and found, to this day, misaligned and misrepresented).

1996 – World of Warlocks and Witches
The first online presence appeared under this name, functioning more as a private club than an official organization. It was narrow in scope and often resembled a parody group focused on fantasy concepts and old-world paranoia rather than serious study. This focus would naturally evolve over time.

1996–2011 – 3 Covens Era
The community merged several groups: The community merged several groups: Warlocks Plus, Northwest Witches, and the virtual world group Naked Pagans (a name based in humor and sarcasm). Hosted on webs.com, this era lasted until the platform phased out features and eventually closed.

-
The primary goal during this period was an academic investigation into the titles of “warlock” and “witch” and to combat the excessively imposed feminist extremism in some interpretations across multiple genres.
-
It was later determined that a foundation closer to authentic historical and linguistic roots was needed, initiating a quest to separate fact from fiction, remove fraudulent claims, and minimize occultist trappings and the baggage of terms like “coven.”

2011 – Sidutru

The tradition was rebranded Sidutru, intended to mean “customs of truth,” emphasizing honesty, reliability, and consistency. It was later recognized that Sidu is an Old Saxon spelling of the Latinized Sedes (“seats”), so the combination was reinterpreted: tru (“true”) + sidu (“seats”), with a “t” changed to a “d,” inventing the term Drusidu for the council of elders.

-
At this time, core foundations aligned with Sacred Geometry and the Drikeyu (Three Keys) cosmological principles were refined thoroughly and respectfully, setting the stage for later developments.
-
For further confirmation one can examine that the forms sid/sed (seed) with a sense of "set in place" are the core root forms for other words like sit, sat seated and so forth.

2014 – Druwayu & Drusidu

-
Druwayu adopted, combining Gaulish words for “true” (dru) and “ways” (wayu)
-
Drusidu coined for the council of elders (“True Seats”)
-
Druan introduced for members (“true ones”)
-
Druish became the term describing the culture
2014 – Clergy Formalization
Three ranks of clergy were established out of basic logic, not occult or fraternity based concepts:

-
High Elder Warlocks and Witches
-
Elder Warlocks and Witches
-
Warlocks and Witches
All clergy are Druans, but not all Druans hold clergy titles.

2019 – Northwest Warlocks & Witches Facebook Group
A community page was created to encourage dialogue, learning, and mutual respect across diverse beliefs.

October 1, 2024 – First Church of Druwayu Founded
Officially established as a recognized non-profit, uniting seekers globally and solidifying Druwayu as a culture and spiritual community centered on intellectual freedom, ethical reflection, and shared connection.

Looking Forward

From a private online circle to a worldwide Druish culture, Druwayu continues to grow and evolve as a living culture and community of seekers committed to truth, curiosity, and mutual respect. What began as a personal quest has evolved into a shared journey, connecting Druans across the globe.

-
As we move forward, Druwayu remains dedicated to inspiring and promoting intellectual freedom, ethical reflection, and authentic connections that isn't topical.
-
Our path is one of exploration, laughter, and discovery, where every Druan contributes to the evolving story of our tradition.
The journey is ongoing, and every seeker has a place in shaping the future of Druish culture.
