ALL ABOUT H.E.W.

H.E.W. stands for High Elder Warlock, a formal and symbolic designation within the First Church of Druwayu. It refers not only to a clerical rank, but also to a layered identity concept that combines historical personal development, symbolic representation, and persona continuity within the Druish tradition.

H.E.W. functions simultaneously as:

  • a clerical title within Druwayu structure.

  • a symbolic embodiment of foundational authorship.

  • a continuity-avatar representing the evolution of the founder’s identity across time.

  • He is a reminder to have fun and live life while you have it, not mourn loss but celebrate memories and not neglect those still here and now.

ORIGINS OF THE H.E.W. CONCEPT

The concept of H.E.W. emerged from the early development of the founder’s long-term philosophical and symbolic identity work, which began long before the formal establishment of the First Church of Druwayu and a lot was kept a mystery on purpose about him even in the gaming worlds/virtual spaces he appeared in from 2007 till he moved on after a particular gaming world closed in 2016.

In its earliest form, the identity that would later be associated with H.E.W. was reflected through personal stylistic expression and later extended into digital and creative environments, including early gaming culture in 2009. During this period, the character known as “TalismanSkulls” became a central avatar through which symbolic themes, aesthetics, and philosophical ideas were explored.

The common questions asked about him with common answers:

Q. Are you supposed to be the devil?

  • A. Some think I am.

Q. Why are you dressed so weird?

  • A. Blame it on the hat. I do.

Q. Why do you have so many girls around?

  • A. They're women actually. And ask them.

This avatar was not merely a character in a conventional, and somewhat unconventional sense, but an evolving representation of identity exploration—blending philosophical motifs, symbolic imagery, and narrative experimentation.

What was the symbolism behind the signature hat?

It is, in truth, rather simple—perhaps even underwhelming to those expecting something dark, elaborate, or artificially mythologized. At its core, it is a personal symbol tied to my birth and the season in which I came into existence.

  • I was born in January, a time often associated with thresholds: the transition between what has passed and what is beginning. In the Chinese zodiac, this corresponded with the Year of the Ox. In Western astrology, it falls under Capricorn, the Sea-Goat. Both already carry meanings connected to endurance, transition, and movement between states.

  • The horns draw from this combination of influences: They can suggest the Ox in terms of grounded strength, while also loosely reflecting a young goat, representing transition rather than fixed identity.

  • The skull represents winter itself: a season associated with death and dormancy, but also with continuity and the possibility of renewal beneath the surface. It reflects impermanence and ongoing change rather than final endings.

  • Sometimes it had as burgundy colored hatband: That color is associated with Red Burgundy Wine which again is tied to festiveness.

The top hat reflects the Western New Year period, marking celebration, passage, and the turning of time. In some versions, holly was included as a seasonal detail tied to winter festivity and renewal. Taken together, the symbol is not intended to be occult but it did play into the mysterious and theatrical. It is a personal emblem built from associations tied directly to birth, season, and the passage of time but also a personal reminder to enjoy life the best I can while I can and not at the expense of others but with others.

EVOLUTION OF THE FORM

Over time, the visual and symbolic representation of this identity shifted:

The earlier skeletal form associated with “TalismanSkulls” was used as a dominant stylistic motif for a period, representing abstraction, mortality symbolism, and detached interpretive identity. I made the determination for this change about May 5th after experimenting a bit and have made this official as of May 15th 2026 as a trademark character.

  1. In later development, this skeletal emphasis was formally retired in favor of a restored and more defined skeletal-human hybrid form.

  2. This shift represents not a replacement of identity, but a sense of return and continuity on one hand, and less off putting on the other.

The current H.E.W. form retains the core stylistic identity while removing excess abstraction, allowing the symbol to function more clearly as a structured emblem rather than a purely aesthetic construct and in many ways allows for more expressiveness in this more cartoonist form.

SYMBOLIC SIGNATURE

The primary identifying emblem associated with H.E.W. is:

  • A top hat with horns.

  • A central skull insignia within the band.

  • A skull necklace and outfit similar to what I once actually wore in real life.

This symbol is not decorative alone, but functions as a condensed representation of layered meaning within Druwayu’s internal symbolic system.

It represents:

  • continuity of identity across time

  • integration of intellect, mortality, and individuality with spirituality

  • the union of structured authority (the hat) with raw existential symbolism (the skull)

  • the presence of disciplined humor within serious philosophical framing

ROLE WITHIN DRUWAYU

Within the First Church of Druwayu, H.E.W. is best understood as a foundational symbolic anchor rather than a separate metaphysical being. it is also important to understand that H.E.W. is not to be "worshiped," nor treated as an external divine figure. He's just an expression of me. Of course, how others may view such is up to them. Instead, it functions as a structured internal symbol—part historical, part interpretive, and part philosophical shorthand for continuity of development.

SUMMARY

H.E.W. (High Elder Warlock) merges clerical designation, personal historical development, and symbolic representation as well as expression, and hopefully an inspiration for others.

  • Emerging from early real-world stylistic identity and later evolving through the “TalismanSkulls” avatar phase, H.E.W. now serves as a refined symbolic form that preserves continuity while clarifying structure.

It stands as a reminder within Druwayu that identity is not static, but can be consciously shaped, refined, and integrated into coherent philosophical structure without losing its origins deliberately which is deliberate living.
