Blood Moon Hex of Protection
Setup
Prepare your space beneath the blood moon or in sight of its light.
Place one large candle at the center of your altar to represent The One God, and three smaller candles around it to represent The Three Goddesses.
This is the standard for all rites in this tradition.
Arrange a bowl of water before the candles, with a pinch of salt stirred in for purification. Keep a protective stone, such as obsidian or black tourmaline, nearby.
Ensure the space is quiet and free from disturbance.
Hex / Prayer
Light the large candle first, saying:
"By the One, eternal flame, I call your strength."
Light each of the three smaller candles in turn, saying:
"By the Three, guardians of harmony, I call your guidance."
Raise your hands toward the blood moon and speak:
Blood Moon, burning red, break the chains of harm.
No power, no influence shall bind me.
No shadow shall linger in my path.
By salt and flame, by water and stone,
I cast away the false and the cruel.
Their strength dissolves, their hold undone,
Their malice scattered into the void.
Hear me now, O One and Three,
Hear me now Wights of the land, spirits of the unseen,
Stand beside me, shield my steps,
Break the hands that reach to wound.
Blood Moon, seal the hex:
Protection strong, banishment sure,
I walk unharmed, my power secure.
So it is spoken.
So it is done."
Completion and Clean Up
When the prayer is finished, hold the protective stone in your hand and dip it into the salted water, sealing the spell.
Extinguish the three smaller candles first, thanking The Three.
Extinguish the large candle last, thanking The One.
Pour the water onto the earth outside to release the banished energies.
Store the stone safely and keep it with you as a talisman of protection.
