Welcome

Welcome to Druwayu.

Pronounced Droo-way-oo, it translates to "true ways," and symbolizing a commitment to honesty with oneself and others in all matters. Druwayu includes a critical examination of traditional practices that may no longer be suitable or relevant.

This aspect of the religion ensures that its rituals and teachings are aligned with contemporary values, such as respect for diversity and social integrity,

By eschewing outdated practices but also exploring proclaimed ancient ones, while focusing on principles that support the well-being and ethical growth of its adherents and communities, Druwayu establishes itself as a multifaceted and dynamic religion that is both rooted in tradition and responsive to current needs.

As a modern polytheistic (recognition of One God and Three Goddesses) and philosophical (which shares some similarities to various philosophies though not all of them in their entirety) religion that embraces actual sciences while reasonably avoiding scientism, Druwayu celebrates the interconnectedness of all things, reflected through sacred geometry and the cosmological concepts of the Drikeyu (Three Keys):

  • Worloga (Eternal Primal Laws)

  • Wyrda (Reciprocal Dynamic Works)

  • Wihas (Universal Lifeforce and Essence)

The Drusidu: Custodians of Druwayu

The Council of Elders—known as the Drusidu—preserve Druwayu’s teachings for the Druish community. Their titles reflect our traditions:

  • Warlocks: Male members of the council.

  • Witches: Female members of the council.

We stand firm in our beliefs. Druwayu respects other religions and requires the same in return, rejecting interference or judgment. Ours is a path of inclusivity—not ethnocentric or nationalistic—but proudly our own.

To make it clear, all Warlocks and Witches of our tradition are Druans, but not all Druans are Warlocks and Witches. What other 'traditions' claim, assume, or believe about Warlocks and Witches are or are not, or what either title means is irrelevant to us. It is that simple.

Our Motto: Embrace Logic, Humor and Absurdity

Embracing Logic:

Logic is the study and application of reasoning—how we form conclusions, analyze arguments, and evaluate validity. It provides a framework to distinguish between true and false statements, ensuring consistency and coherence in thought processes.

  • Deductive Logic: Involves reasoning from general premises to specific conclusions (e.g., “If all humans are mortal, and Socrates is human, then Socrates is mortal.”)

  • Inductive Logic: Draws general conclusions from specific observations (e.g., observing a pattern in nature and predicting its continuation).

  • Formal Logic: Uses symbolic representations and rules to analyze argument structures.

  • Informal Logic: Focuses on everyday reasoning and evaluating arguments based on relevance and evidence.

Logic is a foundational tool in philosophy, mathematics, computer science, and daily decision-making, helping us navigate complex problems with clarity and precision (making sense of things beyond mere assumption).

Embracing Humor:

Humor is the ability to perceive and express things in ways that evoke amusement, laughter, or joy. It’s deeply rooted in human psychology, social interaction, and cultural context. Humor often arises from unexpected twists, incongruities, exaggerations, or the irrational.

  • Wordplay: Puns, jokes, and clever uses of language.

  • Physical Comedy: Slapstick and exaggerated gestures.

  • Satire: Mocking societal norms, behaviors, or institutions to entertain and provoke thought.

  • Irony and Sarcasm: Using contradiction or sharp wit to convey a humorous point.

  • Observational Humor: Finding amusement in everyday situations.

Humor connects people—it lightens heavy moments, disarms tension, and nurtures bonds. It’s universal yet uniquely shaped by individual experiences and cultural nuances. In short, humor is the joy of recognizing life’s quirks and oddities.

Embracing Absurdity:

It is a philosophical perspective that explores the inherent tension between humans' search for meaning and the universe’s apparent lack of meaning. It grapples with the idea that life has no ultimate purpose, yet we are compelled to seek one—a situation that can feel paradoxical, even the ridiculous and 'absurd.'

  • The Absurd: The clash between our desire for clarity and meaning and the indifferent, chaotic nature of the universe.

  • Embracing the Absurd: Rather than falling into despair or creating artificial meaning, absurdism suggests acknowledging this tension and living authentically (honestly/truthfully) despite it.

  • Freedom and Defiance: Absurdism gives one, by accepting the absurd, true freedom to define their own path (give true and personal meaning) and live fully which when applied properly, also allows for a greater sense of compassion for others.

I argue that instead of trying to find purpose in the act of striving, even if the universe offers no inherent reward in and of itself, being that it is entirely impersonal, we define our purpose to strive for a specific and achievable goal without falling into the other trap and delusion of perfectionism. It also allows us to understand that no aspect of nature or the universe or the Devine or anything else is under any obligation to explain anything.

As one can comprehend by this presentation, all three are complimentary to one another and the foundational name of this tradition rooted in seeking impersonal truth and being completely honest about it, while also being honest with oneself and others. This also means the ability to simply admit when one does not know something rather than foolishly trying to defend and remain in ignorance (willfully ignorance = stupid on purpose).
